Anger is a normal and even healthy emotion — but it’s important to deal with it in a positive way. Uncontrolled anger can take a toll on both your health and your relationships.

1. Think before you speak

In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to say something you’ll later regret. Take a few moments to collect your thoughts before saying anything — and allow others involved in the situation to do the same.

2. Once you’re calm, express your anger

As soon as you’re thinking clearly, express your frustration in an assertive but nonconfrontational way. State your concerns and needs clearly and directly, without hurting others or trying to control them.

3. Get some exercise

Physical activity can help reduce stress that can cause you to become angry. If you feel your anger escalating, go for a brisk walk or run, or spend some time doing other enjoyable physical activities.

4. Identify possible solutions

Instead of focusing on what made you mad, work on resolving the issue at hand. Does your child’s messy room drive you crazy? Close the door. Is your partner late for dinner every night? Schedule meals later in the evening — or agree to eat on your own a few times a week. Remind yourself that anger won’t fix anything and might only make it worse.

5. Take a timeout

Timeouts aren’t just for kids. Give yourself short breaks during times of the day that tend to be stressful. A few moments of quiet time might help you feel better prepared to handle what’s ahead without getting irritated or angry.

6. Use humor to release tension

Lightening up can help diffuse tension. Use humor to help you face what’s making you angry and, possibly, any unrealistic expectations you have for how things should go. Avoid sarcasm, though — it can hurt feelings and make things worse.

7. Know when to seek help

Learning to control anger is a challenge for everyone at times. Seek help for anger issues if your anger seems out of control, causes you to do things you regret or hurts those around you.

8. Stick with ‘I’ statements

To avoid criticizing or placing blame — which might only increase tension — use “I” statements to describe the problem. Be respectful and specific. For example, say, “I’m upset that you left the table without offering to help with the dishes” instead of “You never do any housework.”

9. Don’t hold a grudge

Forgiveness is a powerful tool. If you allow anger and other negative feelings to crowd out positive feelings, you might find yourself swallowed up by your own bitterness or sense of injustice. But if you can forgive someone who angered you, you might both learn from the situation and strengthen your relationship.

10. Practice relaxation skills

When your temper flares, put relaxation skills to work. Practice deep-breathing exercises, imagine a relaxing scene, or repeat a calming word or phrase, such as “Take it easy.” You might also listen to music, write in a journal or do a few yoga poses — whatever it takes to encourage relaxation.

1. Use soap free cleanser

Soap free cleansers are gentle and do not strip skin off its natural oils, which are essential during all seasons. No matter what your skin type, switch to a soap free facewash during the monsoon season to get rid of dirt and oil without making your skin dry. Remember not to overwash your face, 2-3 times a day is enough even if it feels oily. Overwashing will lead to excess sebum production and cause problems like clogged pores and breakouts.

2.Use a toner

The rise in humidity will make your skin feel sticky and greasy, using a toner is therefore important during summer. Make sure you add an alcohol-free toner in your monsoon skin care routine to keep it healthy and non-greasy Look for one with antioxidant ingredients like green tea or glycolic acid to maintain healthy pH levels, tighten enlarged pores as well as control blemishes and acne. Using a toner after cleansing is super important to get rid of dirt residue and shrink pores.

3. Exfoliation is key

Regular exfoliation should be a part of your  monsoon skin care ruteen. It helps get rid of dead skin cells and gives the skin a healthy glow. Scrubbing your skin 2-3 times a week also increases blood circulation that helps flush toxins out. When the layer of dead skin cells is removed, your skincare products will get absorbed better. Apart from scrubbing at home, opt for treatments like microdermabrasion and chemical peels to prevent infections and keep the skin clean.

4. Opt for minimal makeup

If you were wearing less makeup or no makeup at all during summer, we suggest you continue that during the monsoon. Heavy makeup looks won’t stay put and there is also a chance of them blocking your skin pores. Go for products like CC creams to even out your complexion, as this will give you flawless skin minus the heaviness of foundation and concealer. This will allow your skin to breathe. Avoid lipsticks also, use tinted lip balms instead, that will nourish your lips as well as give them a natural tint.

5. Don’t skip sunscreen

One mistake that most people make as soon as the monsoon season starts is they give up on sunscreen. Just because the sun is hidden by clouds does not mean it cannot have any effect on your skin. The powerful UV rays can easily penetrate and harm your skin, therefore using sunscreen is a must throughout the year and not just in summer. Add a non-oily sunscreen into your monsoon skin care routine if your skin gets greasy. use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 for complete protection and don’t forget to reapply it every few hours.

6. Use a clay mask

Summer and monsoon are two seasons where it gets difficult to keep excess oil at bay. The high levels of humidity is to be blamed for this. Apart from a basic skincare routine, it is important to use a face mask too at least twice a week. Add a clay mask to your monsoon skin care routine to absorb all the excess oil and keep oiliness at bay. Those with aloe, green tea or other antibacterial ingredients will remove bacteria and impurities that cause breakouts. multani mitti  mask will also be great.

9. Include vitamin C

vitamin c is a powerful antioxidant that keeps health and skin issues at bay. It boosts your immune system and helps fight infections. We suggest adding vitamin C-rich foods into your diet to fight infections. Drink orange juice and eat other citrus fruits to increase your vitamin c. You should also add a vitamin C serum in your monsoon skincare routine to maintain that healthy glow. It fights bacteria, delays signs of ageing and reduces blemishes and scars to give you radiant and flawless skin.

8. Don’t forget sensitive areas

The sensitive areas of your skin, like lips and the area around your eyes is thinner than the rest of your face. This means it requires extra attention. While forming your monsoon skin care routine, don’t forget to take this into consideration. Use a lip scrub to get rid of dryness and flaky skin and use a lip balm everyday, especially at night. Don’t forget to add an eye cream in your PM routine to address problems like dryness, dark circles and puffy eyes. This should be followed all year round and not just in the monsoon season.

9. Apply moisturiser

Contrary to popular belief, you do need a moisturiser even during the rainy season. A moisturiser is a must for every skin type and during all times of the year. It keeps your skin moisturised and hydrated, this means your skin doesn’t have to work overtime to produce excess oil. Well, moisturised skin stays younger and has fewer skin problems. Therefore, it is necessary to add a moisturiser into your monsoon skin care routine. Make sure you use a lightweight and non-greasy formula with natural ingredients like aloe  to keep your skin healthy and happy.

10. Use antifungal powder

While taking care of your face, don’t forget your body needs some attention too. Monsoon season invites a lot of skin infections. The humidity in the air makes skin moist and causes dampness, dirty water and puddles can also cause infection in the feet. It is necessary to dust some antifungal powder after taking a shower every day during the monsoon season to avoid  infaction. Apply it in the folds of the skin where the chances of developing an infection are more.
