Sonu Kakkar (born 20 October 1979) is an Indian playback singer and songwriter. She is the elder sister of Bollywood singers, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar. Sonu Kakkar’s upcoming music video ‘Sun Baliye’ sung by Gajendra Verma, Sonu Kakkar. The music video features Gajendra Verma And Apoorva Arora.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Sonu Kakkar :
a) Sonu Kakkar was born into an economically weak family in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.When Sonu was a child, her father used to sell samosas outside her school. She was often teased by her classmates for that reason.
b) Sonu completed her class 8 from a school in Rishikesh and later, opted for an open board to complete her further education.She has never been to a college.
c) Sonu developed a deep interest in music at a very young age.At the age of 5, she started singing bhajans in the jagratas. In 1990, she moved to Delhi with her family.
d) She grew up in Delhi, and later, moved to Mumbai where she participated in Channel V’s singing reality show, Indian Pop Star.While she was performing in the competition, the music director, Sandeep Chowta, spotted her and promised her to give her an opportunity to sing in his next film.
e) She started her singing career in 2003 with the song “Babuji Zaara Dheer Chalo” from the film ‘Dum.’Subsequently, she sang songs like Seduction Saavariya, Ishq Da Tadka, Kar Mundya, and Lawani.
f) In 2014, Sonu earned recognition with her single “Urban Munda.”Sonu shared during an interview that she had never received any formal training in music.
g) Sonu is the first person from her family to pursue music as her career.She has a deep faith in Lord Ganesha.
